Snowdonia - New Dark Sky

Snowdonia National Park, Wales, UK is granted International Dark Sky status.

Currently, International Dark Sky Reserves can be found in 10 locations throughout the world. And since this announcement for Snowdonia, Wales is the only country world-wide with more than one area designated as an International Dark Sky Reserve.

This designation is given by the International Dark Sky Institute to select destinations that have proven that the quality of their night air is outstanding and real efforts are being made to reduce light pollution.

The conditions found at this reserve and others (see below) present an ideal oppurtunity to photograph the Milky Way and other celestial objects.
